Trying new things

Isn't it fun to try new crafts or art forms? I always find it a challenge to try something new but i get determined to figure it out. This past month i decided to teach myslef crochet and tutu making.

First, i mad a tutu out of tulle for my daughter to be a bumble bee.

Then, I checked out library books on crochet and youtube for crochet videos.

I created a purse and matching hat first.

Then, Hubby wanted a hat so i used gray for the Buccanners football team(pewter). The hat was too wide and wound up looking more like a womens hat so i added a flower and now *I* have two hats! Hehe!

Next I tried Amigurumi (animals and toys) made with crochet. The pumpkin was cute but making circles and balls is not as easy as it looks!.

Finally, I tried the butterfly headband. It is a bit big for my younger daughter so i will probably shorten them in the future.

I have so many things i want to try so if you have a favorite crochet pattern, i would love to give it a try!

Photography

Long time ...no blog.

Sorry that i have been away for a while. I always forget how hard the summer is with three kids home from school! It is less rushed then the school year but somehow we are more on the go all day long.

I have lots of scrapbook pages to share ( I have found time for that!) and I will be moving my photography company (Little Blossoms Photography) to this blog too. I have found that this is a quicker and easier way to show my work.

My latest photographs are of my own kids for their yearly birthday photos. The girls are now 4 and 7 and i take a portrait every year. I don't used posed shots ,however, as I prefer to let their personalities shine through.
Now that summer is fully underway, I will try to post much more often. have a great day!

work in progress

I have been using the Memory Works kit Celebration by Fancy pants to create a clear album.

The album has a sprinkling of professional photos taken of her through the years. It is really cool how you can use two sided paper to show through as part of the decorative elements. It is a money saver as well as dimensional. The two photos here show the cover and first page. I am not scrapping it in order , just what looks good together. I am hoping to buy the ribbons to match to decorate the rings. This is the first time i have used an acrylic album and it has been inspiring my creativity. I am hoping to have it ready in time for my Memory Works open house. I am working on samples for the guests to look at to learn more about the products.
I will post information about the open house soon....

Trying something new!

I knew i was looking for something new to take my scrabooking and art in a new direction however, i did not know i would look to my past to find it.

I decided to try selling a scrapbooking home party company again after many years away from the business.

What made me go back? I found a company called Memory Works.

They are exactly what i was looking for!!! No up lines/down lines/sales quotas.

Just amazing products and great support from the company.

I just received my first order and their products are heaven!

The best part is...they carry all of the best companies and many are exclusive.

I will also be carrying the Cricut expression and its cartridges.

Keep an eye out for news of my Open house and drop me a line if you do not receive an email invitation by Valentine's Day.

I will be adding photos of what i make with all my new products real soon.
